Male drivers in their thirties pay half the about of car insurance those in their twenties do, new findings has revealed.Research from moneysupermarket.com indicates that the average amount of car insurance paid by a man in his twenties was 107 per cent high than the £543 paid by older men.
Females in their 20s, on the other hand, received car insurance last year on average of £736, the body added.
The statistics indicate that insurers view women as mature motorists earlier than their male counterparts, according to Peter Gerrard, insurance research at moneysupermarket.com.
"It's clear from these statistics that insurers view women as mature motorists in their twenties, while men have to wait a decade longer to have their boy racer premiums wiped out," he said.
This month, easyMoney.com announced that eleven per cent of car insurance customers were unaware of what their policy covered.
