Drivers who are renewing their car insurance without reviewing other options could be wasting their money, according to one insurance group.Insurancewide.com has released tips for motorists looking to renew their car insurance, advising drivers to pay the full amount of their insurance premium each year, as insurers may charge a higher APR on monthly payments.
'Pimping your ride' or buying a high performance car might be appealing for some, but the under 30s should steer clear, the company claims, as age is also a factor that can result in a high premium.
Drivers should be aware of every detail of their car insurance deal to ensure they are not being "misled", the company said.
"Decide what cover you need for your own circumstances, then look for it," said James Harrison, Insurancewide.com chief executive.
Earlier this week, Car Parts Direct released tips to help drivers cut fuel consumption costs by 25 per cent.
"Most drivers waste fuel every day as soon as they step into their vehicle," Mike Cornwall told Easier.
