Van drivers are the hardest working employees, the results of a new survey have suggested.

According to research carried out by Nivea deodorant, van drivers clock up over 14,000 days of work in their lifetimes, an important reminder for those people interested in purchasing van insurance.

Other professions which comprised the top three longest working included jobs in the car trade and child care, reports The People.

Professions in which employees had to work less days than others included shop workers, bin men, cleaners and those involved in the fashion industry.

A spokesman for Nivea told the paper the survey showed that the UK was very much "a work hard, play hard nation".

He added: "Many of us are on the go from the moment we wake 'til the moment our head hits the pillow."
