04 July 2006 Biker caught doing 130mph
A motorcyclist has been caught doing 130mph without valid insurance in Scotland. The biker was caught by traffic police as he travelled well above the speed limit on the M8 motorway.
Harry Drummond was taken to Paisley Sheriff Court where judges decided to hit him with a two year driving ban and 200 hours community service.
The 28-year-old was clocked as he made his way between Arkleston and Braehead on October 30th of this year.
Mr Drummond admitted to driving dangerously, without insurance or a valid MOT.
The ban is likely to cause trouble for the biker when he is allowed to get back on the road as many car insurance providers will charge higher premiums for people who have received a ban.
Had Mr Drummond had insurance, he also ran the risk of being refused a payout if he had been involved in an accident as breaking the law is often seen as a breach of insurance terms.
