27 June 2006 Kia Sedona given safety award

Drivers wishing to keep claims on their car insurance to a minimum may be interested to know that the Kia Sedona continues to receive safety awards.

After first receiving a five-star rating from the US Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Sedona has now been awarded for a second time.

The minivan received the Gold Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the US, making it one of the safest minivans around.

"We are extremely proud to learn that the Sedona was recognised yet again for its commitment to safety," said Len Hunt, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kia Motors America.

"Being the first minivan to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick is yet another example of Kia's dedication to providing quality vehicles equipped with the highest level of standard safety features available," he added.

The Sedona is a stylish family car and as one of the safest minivans on the road is sure to be a hit with drivers, particularly those who put safety first.
